Following awareness creation campaign to end FGM and early marriage have been being conducted by E-mac Tanzania, Laigwanans (traditional leaders) vowed to end the oppressive practices in the area. The traditional leaders’ (Laigwanans) council has come up with by-laws that prohibit the gender-oppressive practices in the district FGM being the one. The District Commissioner and the defensive forces have agreed to support the initiative by the council.
