E-MAC Tanzania, in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has successfully conducted a training program aimed at equipping 41 members from four Village Savings and Lending Associations (VSLAs) in Tinga Tinga and Ngerean villages with skills to improve their livelihoods and conserve biodiversity.

The training focused on modern beekeeping business practices, which provide an eco-friendly income source while promoting biodiversity. Participants also learned about zero-grazing livestock systems, which ensure sustainable farming practices that protect the environment, and entrepreneurship skills that empower women and youth to start and grow small businesses.
This initiative is part of a broader project to reduce community dependency on natural resources by introducing alternative income-generating activities. It also strengthens market linkages and VSLAs, enabling participants to access resources and knowledge necessary for sustainable livelihoods.

The impact of this training is significant, as it not only enhances the economic stability of families in the Enduimet area but also contributes to the conservation of the region’s rich biodiversity. By adopting these sustainable practices, the community is taking a proactive role in environmental conservation while securing long-term economic benefits.
